Trusted Expert Repair in Pacific Northwest?

Post by Chris Cook »

I've got a second-hand Williams 700 U12 that's amazing and working fine, but I'm considering a re-rod and curious what my options are other than DIY in the Portland OR, Seattle WA or SF CA areas?

Bill Rudolph from Williams Guitars mentioned Jim Palenscar in LA, but I'd rather not ship if possible, so looking for someone on the northern end of the map if possible. Considering a day trip or long weekend from Oregon.

Anyone up here I can trust to do a pro job?

I'd highly recommend contacting Patrick. Soon before he opened his shop I sold him an old BMI SD12 that I wasn't able to successfully restore. It was really beat up: bent fingers in the changer, tuning rods wouldn't align with the endplate, etc. I did my usual naptha deep cleaning but couldn't even get it put back together. He got the thing up and running and fine tuned which really impressed me.

Besides, like many in our community, he's just a damn good guy ;-)

Another strong recommendation for Patrick Timmons. He made some copedant changes and adjustments on my Jackson and did a fine job. Really a great guy too!
