Gee, I must have missed seeing that one. Rains steel guitars are wonderful guitars and hardly
ever come up for sale.

It would be nice, if Gary and Curtis began making them again. I'm sure they would have no
problem, getting buyers.

Douglas, I sure wish they would! I've got a Rains single with pad and love the guitar! But I'm on edge thinking something gonna break on it. Lol They are great guitars in every way! I love the tone and ease of playing! Sure wish somebody would start making them again!

You and me both, Terry. I think I know why so few of them show up for sale, is the fact, they are really great
guitars and guys aren't interested in letting them go. As you mentioned, great tone, ease of playing. so smooth.
Also, I think they are undervalued and perhaps, underappreciated, as to what a great guitar they are.

I have mine serviced by John Widgren, once a year and he told me anytime I wanted to let it go, please let him
know first, as he would love to have it in his collection. Well, my Rains, is going nowhere. It's my keeper!

I spoke with Curtis a little over a year ago about making steels again and he threw out a teaser to me: He said,
" He would like to make a Black Rains, with ivory inlay for me." Don't I wish.

Doug, I'm not sure if we could even sell our Rains if we wanted to. I mean if they were still being made so parts would be available. That's what worry's me. If I could find a buyer for mine I would be tempted to sell it and buy a steel from someone that's still in business. I saw that one Rains for sale on the forum few weeks ago and I think the seller ended up selling it locally. Kinda puts us Rains owners up a creek ! :)

Terry, I'm not too concerned about the availability of parts for my Rains. We have some very good help and
service here on the Forum. David Yahl's PSG Parts, is a premier parts provider and Jim Palenscar's Steel
Guitars of North Country, a reliable source of parts and custom service.

Don't forget, there a number of master steel guitar technicians here on the Forim as well. Billy Knowles and
John Widgren come to mind, as they both have worked on my guitars. And I'm sure they have "go to" places
for parts, as needed.

So yes, at some point in the future, my Rains, might need a part, but I feel confident there will be a solution,
whether it will be a correct part or a custom fabricated one, I can have my Rains back in service, with support
from members, here on the Forum.
