Hi A pickup
https://www.elderly.com/products/sho-bu ... 7674482879
Trying to do research on this pickup and coming up short, it does have a five way tone control much like a varitone.
I posted the Sho Bud to the store website but still need more info to complete the listing.
Anybody know anything? Thank you, forum.

Re: Hi A pickup
"Hi-A" pickups were very early pickups designed by Bill Bartolini. Mid-late 70s, I believe. Hi-A stands for "High Aperture", a wide aperture humbucker. Bartolinis have been and are still known for being very hi-fi, which is why they are especially popular with bass players and jazz guitarists. One of my bass-playing friends won't use anything else. A P-Bass came through my guitar store in the 90s with one in it, it sounded very good. Round but clean. Sounds like an interesting choice for pedal steel.
Bartolini's website briefly discusses these here - https://bartolini.net/about-us/ - and there are a couple of youtube videos, one with a set being demoed in a P-Bass

Re: Hi A pickup
If I remember right, Hi-A was the earlier name for Bartolini Pickups. They are better known for Bass pickups, and they make great standard guitar pickups and preamps. I didn't know they made steel pickups, but they may have made it on a custom basis.
